The South Dakota Alpha Educational Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation. Donations accepted by the foundation are tax deductible under the Internal Revenue Code.
Contributions to the South Dakota Alpha Educational Foundation funds initiatives that develop the academic, leadership, citizenship, and personal potential of SigEp’s undergraduate members. Thanks to the generosity of alumni, family and friends, the South Dakota Alpha Foundation continues to provide support for scholarships, leadership programming, and safe, competitive undergraduate housing.
There are three funds the Foundation is actively raising money for and two funds that are fully endowed. Donations may be made as a memorial or recognition gift if the donor wishes.
The Educational Foundation has met its initial goal of $400,000 and is on their way to meeting their extended goal of an additional $250,000. The building site is under contract with SDSU and construction documents have been finalized and approved. The goal now is to be able to set South Dakota Alpha up for financial success by increasing the down payment amount on the new facility, which will drive down the monthly debt service. The Foundation will continue raising funds for the housing project until South Dakota Alpha is confident in the financial future of the chapter at current membership levels.
