Last week, nine undergraduate and alumni brothers of South Dakota Alpha attended the 57th Grand Chapter Conclave held in Denver, Colorado. Four days of all things SigEp with brothers from all over the country. Along with the educational sessions, presentations, award ceremonies, socials, and overall pageantry that comes with Conclave, our SD Alpha brothers were showered with some very well deserved awards.
Chapter wins third consecutive Buchanan Cup
For the third time in a row, South Dakota Alpha was awarded a Buchanan Outstanding Chapter Award. The “Buc Cup” is only awarded to the highest performing and “best of the best” SigEp chapters throughout the country. The hard work of our undergraduate chapter members paired with the volunteer and mentoring contributions of our alumni and friends, has led to the success of South Dakota Alpha and the earning of yet another Buchanan Cup.
AVC wins the Cornerstone Award
The SD Alpha AVC (and Educational Foundation) was awarded the Cornerstone award for accomplishing the goal of building a new chapter facility on the campus of SDSU. This award was presented by SigEp National Housing (SENH) in recognition of the investment of time, planning, talents, and fundraising it took to build our chapter facility. SD Alpha’s new chapter home has already left many in awe and the high praise is a testament to the hard work the SD Alpha Educational Foundation has put into fundraising efforts, and equally important, a testament to the contributions of treasure by many SD Alpha brothers and friends.
